Description

Passionate about natural medicine?
Curious about what makes natural medicine so unique and powerful?
This course will teach you what you need-to-know about the incredible philosophy of natural medicine.

The thing that makes naturopathic medicine so distinct and beautiful is the underlying philosophy. It’s not just the tools (herbs, supplements, essential oils, homeopathy, etc.) that are used in natural medicine, it is the way in which those tools are used.

In this course, you’ll learn about the 6 tenets of naturopathic medicine which are the guiding principles that naturopathic doctors follow when working with patients. You’ll learn about the therapeutic order and exactly what we mean by “using the least invasive approach necessary.” So often in western medicine, we do the equivalent of amputating a foot when there’s just a little cut on our toe. Naturopathic medicine says use a medicine that meets the level and severity of the disease, but not more. If you have just a little cut, will amputation do the job? Well, sure. But is it absolutely necessary?

It’s so important to note that naturopathic medicine is not opposed to conventional medicine. Naturopathic medicine believes that there should be a balanced and integrated approach, with using the appropriate medicine for the given situation. It kinda sounds like common sense, right? Without providing too many spoilers, you will learn all about the rich philosophy of naturopathic medicine including what makes it so unique and powerful (and in many ways, just good sense). You’ll probably learn a few shocking and interesting things, too. We hope that you’ll enjoy this course as much as we enjoyed preparing and teaching it!

This course is for anyone who wants to have a better understanding of natural medicine and its rich philosophy. You’ll learn from two naturopathic physicians, Dr. Timothy Miller and Dr. Anaheed Jackson, who will share the most important aspects of natural medicine philosophy in this short course. With their passion and excitement, they will deliver this information in a concise and easy-to-understand way.
This course is part of the Naturopathy 101 Series. This course is unique in that it focuses on the philosophy and approach of natural medicine.
