Description
Cholesterol abnormalities are common in medical practice and cardiovascular disease, including dyslipidemia, is a leading cause of death in the US every year – and so is iatrogenesis! Too many people are told and believe that their disease is due to faulty genes, will continue for the remainder of their lives, and prescription drugs are the best way to manage the issue. As a vitalist naturopath, Dr. Fleetwood wholeheartedly disagrees!
Cholesterol is a necessary component for production of sex hormones and healthy cognition and Cholesterol abnormalities are basically lifestyle-driven problems. Dyslipidemia can be caused by other prescription medications and/or over-the-counter products and to disregard the causative factor and treat a set of symptoms does not change the course of the disease process, nor bring quality of life to the sufferer. Rather, it can, indeed, cause harm. Some patients would prefer to have their disease managed; other patients are desperately seeking a practitioner that will help them achieve health on a more holistic level!
This course series is designed to show another way — disease reversal — while also pointing out what the prescriber (and deprescriber) needs to know about the drugs in the disease-managed patient.
