Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA)
The Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA) is a global professional organization dedicated to advancing the field of aromatherapy and promoting the safe and effective use of essential oils. AIA serves as a vibrant community for aromatherapists and those interested in aromatherapy, providing access to a wealth of educational resources, research, and professional development opportunities. The organization is committed to fostering high standards of practice, ethics, and safety within the industry, ensuring that members are well-informed and equipped to use aromatherapy in various settings. AIA also hosts conferences, webinars, and events that facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas among practitioners worldwide. Through its efforts, AIA aims to elevate the profile of aromatherapy and support the personal and professional growth of its members, ultimately enhancing the overall health and well-being of individuals and communities globally.
American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH)
Established in 1844, the American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH) is the oldest national medical association in the United States, welcoming licensed physicians (medical, osteopathic, naturopathic, and veterinary), dentists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacologists, and pharmacists who integrate homeopathic medicine into their practice. The AIH’s mission is to promote the science and art of homeopathic medicine, safeguard the interests of the homeopathic medical profession, ensure the quality and integrity of homeopathic medicines, set educational standards, educate the medical and scientific communities on the scientific basis of homeopathy, and inform the public about homeopathy as a medical specialty. The American Board of Homeotherapeutics, a separate entity, certifies medically-licensed homeopathic physicians. Additionally, AIH publishes the peer-reviewed American Journal of Homeopathic Medicine quarterly, featuring original research, case studies, history, philosophy, and reviews. Americans for Homeopathy Choice (AFHC)
Americans for Homeopathy Choice is a non-partisan, 501c(3)-tax deductible, national nonprofit formed to:
✔️Support the rights of the 6 million (and growing) Americans who use homeopathy.
✔️Support manufacturers of homeopathic medicines which meet the standards for strength, quality, and purity.
✔️Include consumers, practitioners, manufacturers, and other supporters of homeopathic medicine in its efforts.
✔️Protect access to homeopathic medicines so that practitioners can treat their clients using the full range of homeopathic medicines.
Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy Foundation (AVHF)
Founded in 1995, the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy (AVH) is comprised of veterinarians dedicated to restoring true health to their patients through homeopathic treatment. The AVH supports veterinary homeopaths through education and advocacy, promoting the principles of Classical Homeopathy. Members have access to resources such as The AVH Journal, conference proceedings, monthly webinars, case examples, homeopathic literature, a community forum, and discounted registration for the annual conference. Collaborating with the Pitcairn Institute of Veterinary Homeopathy (PIVH), the AVH shares booths and provides lectures at major conferences and maintains a page in the Integrative Veterinary Care Journal to highlight homeopathic successes and continuing education updates. Financial support is offered through scholarships for PIVH students and funding for homeopathic lectures at veterinary schools. The AVH has defended the practice of homeopathy against criticism from some in the allopathic community for over a century and provides support for members facing complaints while practicing classical homeopathy. In 2013, the AVH successfully encouraged the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) to support the ongoing use of homeopathy after a white paper from the Connecticut VMA sought to discourage it, with the AVH providing crucial letters and in-person support at the annual AVMA meeting.
Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists (CFA)
The Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists (CFA) is the leading and largest accrediting aromatherapy association in Canada, established in 1993 as a volunteer-based, nonprofit, federally chartered organization. CFA sets high educational standards, requiring its approved schools to teach the science of aromatherapy along with anatomy and physiology, ensuring students understand how these components integrate for safe and effective holistic health. Professional members must complete ongoing educational programs, enhancing their knowledge through a variety of courses, retreats, workshops, and lectures. The CFA supports the growth of the aromatherapy field and its members by providing up-to-date information and best practices on the therapeutic use of essential oils and natural materials. With a mission to promote holistic health and a vision to lead in aromatherapy education both nationally and internationally, CFA honors its history by maintaining rigorous standards and supporting approved schools through a thorough vetting process, offering diverse learning opportunities in multiple languages.
Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians (HANP)
The Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians (HANP), established in the late 1970s and early 1980s, is a specialty organization within the naturopathic medical profession affiliated with the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP). As a nonprofit organization, HANP relies on the volunteer efforts of its board, student representatives, and focus group volunteers to connect, guide, and support naturopathic physicians in the practice of homeopathy. HANP promotes excellence in homeopathic practice through establishing standards, providing education, and offering mentorship. Key activities include enhancing the homeopathic curriculum at naturopathic colleges, offering continuing education, collaborating with other homeopathic organizations, and publishing the peer-reviewed journal, Simillimum. HANP has a history of defending the practice of homeopathy, notably influencing the American Veterinary Medical Association’s (AVMA) support for homeopathy in 2013. Homeopathy for Health in Africa (HHA)
Homeopathy for Health in Africa (HHA) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to providing homeopathic care to communities in Africa, particularly those affected by HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other chronic conditions. Founded by homeopaths Jeremy and Camilla Sherr, HHA operates with a mission to alleviate suffering through effective, accessible homeopathic treatment. Founded with a mission to improve global health through the principles of homeopathy, HWB sends teams of experienced homeopaths to areas affected by natural disasters, poverty, and lack of medical infrastructure. These professionals offer free homeopathic treatments, aiming to alleviate suffering and promote healing in communities with limited access to conventional medical resources. National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA)
The National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy is a 501(c)3 member based non-profit association devoted to the holistic integration and education of aromatherapy into a wide range of complementary healthcare practices including self care and home pharmacy. We offer scientific, empirical and current information about aromatherapy and essential oils to the public, practitioners, businesses, product designers, bloggers/writers, educators, healthcare professionals, and the media.
NAHA is actively involved with promoting and elevating academic standards in aromatherapy education and practice standards for the profession. NAHA is also devoted to increasing the publics knowledge and understanding of aromatherapy and its safe and effective application in everyday life.
North American Society of Homeopaths (NASH)
The North American Society of Homeopaths (NASH), founded in 1990, aims to set standards of competency and create a registry of individuals highly trained in classical homeopathy to inform and protect consumers. Since 2001, NASH has collaborated with organizations that maintain high standards of practice in classical homeopathy, recognizing those whose criteria meet or exceed its bylaws as a pathway to becoming a NASH Registered Member. Dedicated to upholding excellence, NASH’s registration process ensures practitioners are well-qualified. Central to NASH’s mission is promoting and representing professional homeopaths, enhancing their role in health care across North America. NASH seeks to provide professional unity, a strong voice among health care modalities, and a powerful societal presence. As the leading organization for professional homeopaths in North America, NASH supports its members in facing the challenges of homeopathic practice. NASH values peer review and case submissions, acknowledging homeopathy as a unique discipline that requires more than just scientific knowledge. Founded to support professional homeopaths without prior allopathic training, NASH emphasizes the importance of rapport, intuition, and logical application of homeopathic principles. National Health Freedom Coalition (NHFC)
The National Health Freedom Coalition (NHFC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals to access and choose their preferred healthcare options. With a mission to promote health freedom, NHFC advocates for legislative and policy changes that safeguard the autonomy of both healthcare practitioners and consumers. The organization works to ensure that individuals have the right to access a broad range of healthcare modalities, including complementary and alternative therapies.
